Opened unit looked nice but it would not put out a mist also,
the motor changes speed at start up.

Got this product for use on the patio when it is 90 degrees and over. Works well. It has a novel concept of pumping water onto a spinning disk and then a fan blows it outwards, making you feel cooler. It has a setting for the water. On high, you will get wet if you are close by but that can be fun. It is very directional, so it is only good when blowing on 1 or 2 people. The fan does not have any speed settings so I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars. Makes an Arizona patio usable in the heat.

We used the Solus mister on a 98 degree day and it did a good job of cooling the area under our tent. Water consumption was 2 gallons for the whole day.
I recommend this product and this seller who shipped promptly. The unit arrived in perfect condition.
